Hyperdrive Loses $782,000 in Tokens After Smart Contract Exploit Attack
Hyperdrive, a lending protocol on the Hyperliquid blockchain, suffered a $782,000 exploit targeting two liquidity pools. The attacker drained 673,000 USDT0 and 110,244 thBILL tokens before converting them to BNB and ETH and moving them off-chain.
Certik identified the root cause as an arbitrary call vulnerability in the router's smart contract. This marks the third security incident for Hyperliquid in 2025. The protocol has paused operations to contain damages and assess affected accounts.
